ABOUT ME

I found painting, my passion, in mid life after a career as an environmental attorney in Washington, DC.  I create primarily in my studio in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – winner of a 2016 prestigious International A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design. I am one of the founders and active members of the dynamic Mid-City Artists Group in Washington, DC.,  the Managing Art Director for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and an active member of the Rehoboth Art League. I am an oil painter and my artwork ranges from the textural abstract landscape work that has been the focus of my major recent work, to brilliantly colored still life paintings and figurative paintings in soft warm flesh tones.

My art is an expression of the beauty I see all around me and my ever optimistic outlook on life. My paintings reflect my highly individual vision of the scenery or subject matter that surrounds me. Color dominates my vibrant surfaces as the play of light is expressed in applications of intense, and sometimes surprising hues. Paint strokes are infused with an exuberant energy. The results are dream-like canvases that evoke a sense of playfulness and spontaneity. The canvases take on a life of their own, the results always fresh, unique and exciting.
